I have found something that makes cooking for our family fun and interesting.  This idea of chaining comes from my favorite Food Network chef:  Robin Miller.  She does this often on her shows.  She will cook enough of a main dish and reinvent this dish twice more in the week.   It takes leftovers to a whole new realm!  My favorite is from the episode: “I Feel Like Chicken Tonight.”  First there was the Garlic-Lime Chicken with Olives.  This turned into Mexican Lasagna the next night and finally the leftover chicken made it to Chicken Caesar Salad.  Since trying a few of her ideas I have been inspired to create some of my own “chained” recipes.  It helps to save time and money.  Not only do you really only have to do heavy cooking only one night, but because you are using reappearing ingredients, you save money as well.

Check out Robin Miller’s site on www.FoodNetwork.com and I bet you get inspired.  Our very own Budget Queen has a link that allows you to plug in an ingredient or two and get some recipe ideas that are extremely frugal.   Use her link to come up with some chaining ideas.  Most of all have fun!  Involve the family in the process, ask their opinion on how to revive leftovers, you might be surprised with the creativity within your own home!
